H.E. Dr. The Special Envoy and Extraordinary Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), Jemal Beker Abdula, contacted H.E. On Thursday, the Federal Minister for the Interior, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, met with him to talk about various areas of cooperation.
The beginning of Ethiopian Airlines operations from Karachi, which has strengthened Pakistan’s ties not only with Ethiopia but also with Africa, was a topic of discussion between the two countries. During the meeting, the possibility of bilateral cooperation for peace and security was also brought up. The Ambassador congratulated the Minister, who is also Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, on taking on the role of Asian Cricket Council President and on hosting the International Cricket Council Champions Trophy 2025.
The Ambassador emphasized the necessity of bilateral cooperation to achieve the common goals of peace and prosperity by highlighting the global challenges, such as terrorism, climate change, and piracy. He said Ethiopia and Pakistan are working together in multilateral forums to ensure international peace and security, especially under the Blue Helmets of the United Nations.
The Minister concurred that bilateral cooperation between the two nations must be strengthened to advance their respective interests. He reassured the Ambassador that he would fully support the Ambassador’s efforts to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two nations.
